Why we created this program

More Than a Ride. A Reason to Aim Higher.

We see families every day working hard to keep life moving. The FlexRide Back to School Awards exist to put real support behind the students in those families with no strings tied to any vehicle.

Community First

FlexRide grew up in this community. These awards are our way of giving back to the families who drive with us.

Creativity Rewarded

Students share their ideas in their own voice. We celebrate imagination, effort, and ambition, not grades or hardship.

A Strong Start

Award funds help families cover technology, supplies, and the little things that make a school year feel possible.

The awards

5 students will be recognized in 2026 with awards designed to make the school year easier and more inspiring.

How to enter

How It Works

Four simple steps from idea to award. No purchase, no vehicle, no obligation.

  1. 01

    Choose

Your student picks one submission topic and the format that fits them best.

  2. 02

    Create & Submit

They create their entry and a parent or guardian submits it through the application form.

  3. 03

    Judged

Entries are reviewed by our panel within the student's age group for creativity, clarity, and heart.

  4. 04

    Winners Announced

Five students are announced and awards are delivered ahead of the 2026–2027 school year.

Age-group guidance

Every Grade Has Its Own Lane.

Entries are judged against students in the same age group, so younger students never compete against older ones.

Grades K–4

A drawing, poster, or short story (up to 250 words) with a sentence or two explaining the idea. Help from a grown-up with typing is fine.

Grades 5–8

A written piece of 300–500 words, a short video up to 2 minutes, or a visual project with a written explanation.

Grades 9–12

A written piece of 500–750 words, a video up to 3 minutes, or a portfolio-style project with a written summary.

Judging

Reviewed Fairly. Judged With Care.

A FlexRide panel reviews every eligible entry within its age group. Scores are combined and the five highest-scoring students receive awards.

Creativity

Original thinking and a point of view that feels like the student's own.

Clarity

A clear idea, well organized and easy to follow for the format chosen.

Heart

Genuine effort, optimism, and a connection to family, school, or community.

Effort

Care and craft in how the entry was put together for the student's grade level.
